I like the idea behind the new Z, but the concept version is a disappointment. The rear is -- pardon the pun -- butt ugly. The car as a whole is somewhat similar to the 928 Porsche, but I think it could use a few more 'frills' to spice up the exterior (some intakes or something). It's a bit bland at the moment. I like the interior though. It would also be a shame to dump a wimpy engine in it. The Zs were never the fastest thing on the road, but they had enough umph to keep them respectable.

I agree with you completely. And it would be a shame to put anything less than a 6-cylinder in it. If you know of any sites with more pics of the concept car than the nissan-usa site has... let me know.

I have a link on my main page to the MSN section on the new Z. It includes a short video clip.

AND!! I pay the $5 a month so even though it's at geocities there are no annoying popup ads.

Yeah, I agree the concept is ugly from the backside but she has a pretty face. Without the peppy 2.5 skyline powerplant it will suffer. Just look at the 4 cylinder Mercury Cougar. A four cylinder Z won't have success in the U.S. because of the traditions in the market. I think a more original looking rear end would appeal to owners. That rear line looks more Cougar than 928 to me but either way it's gotta go. If Nissan makes a 250Z on the skyline engine they can sign me up for my third Z right now.
