Due to lack of power in my 90TT, i decided to perform a compression test. Results:
#1 - 130 cold 135 warm
#2 - 139 cold 144 warm
#3 - 145 cold 140 warm
#4 - 135 cold 145 warm
#5 - 154 cold 142 warm
#6 - 147 cold 145 warm

This was my first compression test and i know nothing about internals. What do u guys think of these numbers?

By the write-up on tt.net, the range is 128-171. Im guessing most 20yr old engines dont have perfect compression numbers. Im wondering if this is the cause of my lack of power and is rebuilding/replacing the engine my only option...

i read somewhere you don't want a range higher than 8psi for all cylinders or something like that either. a range of 154 and 130 seems kind of high to me.

Those numbers are OK for a TT. The numbers need to be no more then 10% off from each other warm. 150psi for a TT is nominal. 170psi for an NA.
