I recently got a 83 Turbo motor with the P90A. I checked compression with a starter and battery I have. The compession was low. Do the hydralic lifters go down after sitting for a long time? How can I get the right reading. The comp. should not be below 120 like I read. Anyone help me here?

I have the same compression in my car, 83 zxt with hydrolic lifters, I didn't try sprayin oil in the cylinders though. It's just a sign that our 19 year old cars need the engine rebuilt.

Was the engine up to operating temperature? You have to do the test on a warm engine to get correct readings. A cold engine will read low.

Yes...those lifters will leak down.
Though just turning the motor over will probably get oil to the cam, the lifters won't pump up until the pressure gets a little higher. This is my experience with a P90A.
