I just dropped the transmission off at the shop for a complete rebuild. Should I replace the clutch now. Stock 71 Z. Here would go for the parts? and What brand. Your suggestion will be appreciated. Don Pappe Seattle

Wow. No replies. Ok, I'll tell you what I think.

You've gone to the trouble to rebuild your tranny, a new clutch is in order. How often do you want to pull the unit?

A nice fresh transmission deserves a nice fresh clutch. Don't forget to have your flywheel resurfaced. And get a new pilot bushing and throwout bearing.

For stock applications, I've never heard that the stock clutch cannot handle the load. Those that heavily modify end up going with something stronger, like the Centerforce Dual Friction II or some such. Give Courtesy Nissan a call, tell them you are a Z club member, pick out the unit you want at a discount.
