Clutch or Fuel?

228 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  shazbot111
I tried to drive my 260z to work this morning, and had to turn around and walk instead. When I would get the car moving, it would start to go and then it almost felt like the clutch would slip, but the motor wouldnt free up. Instead the car would bog down and almost stall on a hill. Even in all the other gears, and at no paticular speed. I have no idea where to start. Any ideas?

Sounds like your lacking fuel, if it were the clutch, the engine would rev and you would go nowhere.

Dave
check fuel pressure, It has to be fuel or vacuum related. Although i know nothing of carbs, but a vacuum should be had on all engines. Could be a huge exhaust leak. But im sure you would know about that.
How about the distributor not advancing enough too?

Dave
if it were an exaust leak what exactly would be causing it? mechanically I mean?
