There are many different variables. The driver is a big one, more slipping of the clutch while driving will decrease life. Obviously lots of hard launches don't help. And a leaking rear main oil seal will seriously screw it up.

I originally purchased my 85 n/a about five years ago and the clutch was about half way there at that time.

Five years later and a lot of hard driving I am currently in the process of replacing the clutch because the slipping got to where it was undriveable. Just dropped the tranny this weekend!

With all of the work involved hopefully it will hold out just as long or longer!

Hopefully that will give you an idea of the life of the clutch.

if you drive it right it should last a really long time....... my dad had a truck with 120k and the original clutch still in it. A friend of mine races his civic and he puts a new clutch in her like every 6 months.
