hello i am trying to put a 5 speed in my 71z
The clutch does not seem to engage , I used the fork from the 4 spped and the collar on the throwout bearing is also 240 original
Does the fork matter? how about the collar /

If you are mounting a 5-speed transmission from a later Z (1977 or later) you should be using clutch parts for those Zs. The pressure plate, yoke and collar are different sizes for different years of production.

The 1971 5-speed transmission was very rare (mostly in Europe and Japan) so you probably have the '77 and later transmission.
