cleaning up

I have a 1980 280 zx 2x2 and i was just wondering about removing everything that is not going to make my car not run. I want to take out the ac system and cruise control system. So i have a few questions about that, i have gotten rid of the blower heater core and soon to be the evap thing under the dash and ever since then i have had no Blinkers are thoses systens in some way interconected if not any suggestions why the dont work.
