My friend has a 69 camaro minus the engine. And i believe in there sits a turbo 350 auto tranny. Anyway he wants to go big block with it. Do big block and a small block chevrolet engines have the same mounting bolts. in otherwords will all trannys that fit a small block fit a big block.
Thanks in advance

Yep
Yes, but it he may consider a Turbo 400 if he is going to build up the big block.
yeah, they all fit. He SHOULD know this... It's not top secret info. But, the TH-350 won't be good for a BBC. They aren't meant to handle the high output of those engines unless built to do it. If he had a Highly modified Small Block and had the trans built for it, then he can keep it. Sounds like your buddy doesn't know anything about the car (just got it?) and he should assume the trans needs rebuilt anyway. If he has it built to handle the Big Block, it will cost more than a TH-400 which can handle the BBC output with no problem. I would sell the TH-350 and get a 400...
Whats wrong with the 700r4 transmission? I have one in my 280z....aside from adjusting the dam TV cable, they are nearly bullet proof!
700's are ok for small blocks, but will not handle a big block. They can be built for it, but it is very expensive. Having the O/D is nice though.
