Hi -

Just a quick question about checking cam timing (valve cover off, engine at
TDC and all that). In "rolling" the car back and forth to get the car at Top Dead Center, I sometimes am turning the crank clock wise, then a little counter clock wise. Does that really matter? It does not hurt the engine to turn it CCW, does it?Does it effect the allignment of the marks - V

Lotsa slack?

Like Norm sez, if you have ANY slack in your chain, you will really screw up the timing measurements. And they ALL have slack!
Stick to one way rotation, unless you are at the very very top of tdc with a dial indicator and the head off, making a CORRECT TDC arrow for later measurements.

Anybody ever slot their timing index and make it correctly line up with TDC and your pulley timing notch? Check it sometime, you might be suprised...
