Is it a manual or automatic Trans.? Could be your clutch starting to slip. If automatic could be low on fluid.
Car takes a second to move when I accelerate
I have a 1979 280zx sometimes recently when I accelerate the car begins to rev up a little (sounds like it normally would when i accelerate) but the car doesn't move for a moment, then all of a sudden it seems like something catches and the car jumps forward and goes. One time it did this and cut off directly after lurching forward.
It does not do this all of the time, but only sometimes.
What could be the cause of this?

automatic. So transmission fluid?
It's thinking...you're running Vista.
Its definitly Vista. Get a Mac.
