I have a 83 zxt p90a head

I was taking my head part to take in to machine shop for valve job. I goofed and pulled the cam gear off the cam without looking at marks for the cam gear. So i need to know what number on the cam gear do I use #1, 2#,3# ? I think 1 but not sure.

Providing you didn't drop the timing chain and blow the tensioner. And as long as you marked the chain to the sprocket you can put it in any position. They are just adjustment holes for chain stretch. Put the pin in #2 hole and then check the referance point on the back of the sprocket. It is a "V" and it should line up with aan elongated mark on the cam retainer. If it does'nt then try hole #1 or #3, whichever lines it up the best.
It sounds to me like you have lost your timing marks though.
