I am in the process of stripping down my 76 280Z andh have removed the bumpers. Never want to have them on again. The car has just lost over a foot in overall length and looks much better for it.

Now, how does one go about removing the bumper shock and all the other **** from the rear? There are 3 acorn nuts a side in the far rear corners that seem to line up with something? holding the bumper shock? Took em off but but nothing budged. Any ideas? Am I missing something or does it NOT bolt-off? There is very little clearance to work with from under the car especially on the muffler side. No problem with the fronts.

Does anybody make fiberglass rear quarters?

I can not remember how my 78 was setup, but on my 83 the rear bumper shock has a one bole holding it is from inside the car. take the foam and carpet out and look for a single bolt. It took me a while to find the bolt on my 83. good luck
