I have replaced my tires, struts and left inner tie rod. My car runs good at high speeds, but when I brake the steering wheel shakes real bad. Any ideas on the problem. A mechanic friend said my ball joints had some gap, but verthing else looks good.

You culd use a dial indicator to check your rotors or just take them and have them machined, the shop that cuts them can give you an idea of how bad they were out. As little as ten thousandths can cause vibration. there is also something called pad transfer which will cause vibration but machining rotors will also fix it.

Re: Warped front brake rotors? n/c

yep. I had the same problem on my '78 280 when i bought it last fall. I replaced the front rotors and pads in the front and back. Now I no longer need a two handed grip on the wheel to stop.
