why does my N/A have a boost sensor? Its under the hood on the drivers side, near the headlight. It has a few wires coming out of it, and it looks like it runs into the intake. I know its a boost sensor because it has 'boost sensor' in raised plastic letters.

oh, but you do need it. the dash is recalibrated to only read half of the sensors output voltage for the height of the tachometer bars.

That's kinda confusing red.
FWIW when I bought my car the sensor was disconnected. It was a few weeks after I bought it before I caught it. The only difference I noticed when I connected it was that the tacho-torquemeter dash display began to work.

if i put a turbo on my engine will this act as an actual boost sensor? it would be the part of the tach that is now just an accelerometer, right?
