does anyone know where i can get (on the web) the rubber inserts
that go inside the chrome body side mouldings. aftermarket
ding protector mouldings they used to call them

mine are all dried up shrunk and cracked

Haven't been able to find those, either...but check the auto parts stores (Pep Boys and the like) for very similar complete new sets...and if you have success locating replacements please let us know here on this forum...Thanks... )

When I repainted my car I used a flexable primer, masked the chrome and painted with the body. It looks good although there is shrinkage in the long door trim.

You might want to check the JC Whitney catalog. I'm not a big
fan, but they did have replacement side moulding. Unfortunately,
you get the whole kit - aluminum track - ends - moulding insert.
I bought the red moulding insert for my 83 two years ago and
it still fits great. I couldn't find the insert anywhere else. I
think it was around $30.00.

Just a thought.
