body-side door windows

Stupid problem-but big pain. Can not get window glass out of driver side door to easily replace lock and handle on late production of '77 280z. Mechanic book seems to have illustration for earlier production and details and illustrations differ slightly. Please help with any tips or suggestions. All screws are out, but front sash will not remove like book suggests. Easy job had become impossible. Thanks!
