Has anyone had experience with an earo kit for a zx from motorsports ? how is the quality ? is it hard to instal ? and how do they stay on the car ? Thanks
I just had the Aerokit 2 installed on my 80ZX. The shop said the kit was warped when they received it. The front bumper needed to be trimmed for the hood to open. But that was only because I had them shim it to lessen the gap. But overall the kit worked out very well.
Ok my body shop is just finishing the install on my 82 turbo. The airdam needs to be trimmed in order for the hood to open. You need to take off the old bumper covers and install the fiberglass to the supports. You may have to release the gas from the bumper shocks. This took more time then I expect for a kit that was SUPPOSE to be made for this car. There are some other little sandings that need to be done in order to make the kit look smooth. It is a very pretty kit but Motorsports should be honest and tell you that it needs to be done by someone that has experience in working with fiberglass. This is not a job for most of us that fix their car up....you really need experience and an extra set of hands on your side.
that seems to be the general consensus from anything purchased from MSA. my headlight covers for my zx were no where near bolt right up. it would almost have been easer to just buy the plexiglass lenses and fab up some brackets myself.
