black is usually fuel...indicating a rich condition.
its most likely carbon deposits burning off, most automatics do that when you put the pedal to the metal and it downshifts
I know black is fuel, and its not a automatic and i dont think its carbon, the plugs are fouled and its a good cloud of smoke
it seems to me that alot of fuel problems can lead to a bad return fuel regulator they can some times give you low presure and the engine wount start or have very weak pick-up and makes it smoke, and sometime they will give to much presure and the engine will have good pick-up but will back fire through the throttle body. so make sure to check your fuel return presure regulator too. i hope this will help.
Air filter. Throttle body cleaned to a shinny finish without gunk at the throttlye butterfly. Correct NGK plugs. Valves adjusted. Timing correctgly set. An AFM that you have NOT tampered with. Just a few things to consider...
I have just installed a custom K&N cold air intake, Ive cleaned out the throttle body, the plugs are fouled I havent replaced them yet, I havent been able to mess with timing yet I dont have a timing light, The AFM has never been opended
