Well, I couldn't resist. I bought an 82 turbo motor runing in an 81 na car. I think the engine is running off of the na ecu. It appears to be rigged in a non-professional maner, but the motor runs pretty good.

My plans are to swap the turbo motor into my '78 after a mild rebuild. I was wondering which ecu is best. I've read a couple of posts here that indicate that a 300zx can be used and eliminate the AFM. This sounds like the way to go. I'm trying to stay away from the aftermarket controlers. Any input or advise is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rod

Hi,
If you are going to do that buy an aftermarket one, like the tec2. You will save work. If you can get the 300 cpu do not get the na one. The turbo one can be made to not cut off fuel at 6500 rpm. If you are geting the original trubo engine cpu use the 81 model, it doesn't cut off at 65000 rpm.
