I'm wondering what's the best way to increase power on my stock 280z. I barely won a race against a v10 Dodge truck, and don't want a repeat! I'm considering MSA's three-into-two headers, and their "twice pipes" exhaust. I have to pass emissions too. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Make yourself an intake.MSA sells one but they charge way to much and dont ever have it in stock. Go to a local autopart store and ask for RU3610(im almost possitive its the right #) then custom make your own tube. Get like 3 inch exhast tube. I just did all this yesterday. I had the exhast tech polish the pipe and it looks almost like chrome. Total cost $51 lol

I think every mod you do will depend on your engines ability to aspirate. The way it takes air in and push exhaust out will influence everything else in between. I would start there for it is pretty cheap as compared to other mods.

Put on an exhaust (get rid of cat if possible), headers, intake, a performance cam (takes advantage of intake/exhaust), remove bumpers (cut 150 lbs).

To go beyond that, you might want to raise the CR of your engine, upgrade ignition, port/polish intake manifold/head.

Oh yeah, a 3.9 or 4.11 rear end will really help acceleration.

Re: yup

Yah diffs are a great way to go faster but you have to rember that it is going to cost a lot of money. 3.9s are ok to find but 4.11s took me almost 11months to find. Not to mention you have to brace the area. Get a diffrent speedo cog and run high pro bolts on the drive shaft.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the ideas, guys. Now you've got me thinking, diff and headers! I wonder how she would look minus the super-bumpers???
