What is the Best Cleaning Solvent for cleaning the inside of the turbo. Found my turbo frozen in place put otherwise intact. There is hardened(burned) oil in the oil passages. I'm looking for any solvent to maybe desolve this gunk.
Thanks
Tom

To Dissolve Gunk...

use Gunk Engine Brite Heavy Duty Degreaser. Just be sure and follow the directions on the can cause that stuff also dissolves stuff like rubber, printed circuit boards and your hide if you're not real careful.

RE: To Dissolve Gunk...

Better off to rebuild the turbo. If it got enough burned oil in it to freeze it it's had a hard life and deserves a rebuild. Should be able to get it done for under $200. Get it upgraded for about $400. When a turbo blows it is very likely it will take out your motor as well. They both use the same oil, remember. As well as little pieces of the impeller blade getting blown into the combustion chambers.
