My throttle linkage on my 78 280 seems to bind or stick raising the RPM when the ignition is on yet there is no binding when it is off. It's most noticible when pulling up to a stop.
To explain more, the linkage has been removed, greased and replaced and the dashpot is currently removed. With motor running if i raise the RPM the throttle valve/linkage seems to stick in a couple of positions . If i kill the ignition while it is stuck i can hear the BCDD vacuum controlled solenoid valve click, and the throttle valve/linkage snaps back to the fully closed/seated position.I understand that a faulty BCDD will raise the RPM but i thought that the BCDD sytem was all vacumm and had no mechanical connection to the the throttle valve/linkage.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks. Glenn
