There is one thing I noticed when I took the cover off my AFM. As I have written before, I have a rough idle. It runs smooth, then kinda drops out and runs rough, then runs smooth again. It generally cycles continuously like this, though sometimes it runs steadily smooth and sometimes it is particularly rough.

Anyway, when I had the cover off my AFM I turned on the engine, and I could see the contact would move a little to the left when the car idle got rough, and a little to the right then it was smooth. I'm talking about a very slight movement. I used a pen to force the metal base -- which I assume connects directly to the flap inside the AFM, and I forced it a little to the right and held it steady as possible to see if the engine would smooth out. It didn't smooth out though -- it still wasn't running right, though of course, the sound was a little different.

Does this give me any useful information?

Thanks!
Brian
