I found new toyota calipers for 29 bucks each at pepboys. At the junkyard they are 7 bucks each. Should I get the new ones or are they a pretty reliable part and used ones will be just fine?
Thanks TJ

RE: Purchase new calipers or Junk yard ones? Toyo

The ONLY thing I would use junkyard calipers for is as a core exchange or as a core to rebuild myself.

I would NOT! drive on calipers straight from the junkyard...most people do not change the brake fluid w/ any regularity & chances are there is corrosion inside the piston bores.

This is my opinion, maybe not very humble on this topic, but the hazards of running bad brakes are not worth the $ savings!
