Is this normal? Problem with my passanger side door lock but I fixed it. Drivers side I have to twist the key to pump up the lock many times before it disengages. Took apart my door lock to find out that the lock core( part that the key sticks in) is damaged beyond repair. So what do I do? Where do I get a new core to match my Key?
Thanks-Travis 77z

RE: Door lock problems! UGH

Remove the lock cylinder, take it to a locksmith and ask him to key it to your key.

RE: THe cylinder is that problem though.

Get another one and follow Tom D.'s advice. Somebody probably has several and would probably give you one if you are local.

RE: THe cylinder is that problem though.

I have seen some locksmiths that will make lock cylinders, and for much less than the $60 or so dollars that they list for.

Travis - buynew one from locksmith for $15

Travis,
I had exactly the same problem. I went to a local locksmith and had him get me a new door lock, keyed to my existing ignition key for $15. I had to take out old and install the new one but it ws well worth it. I went ahead and replaced all my locks while I was at it.
Phantom.
