I want to install new 8mm silicone wires. Do most of you opt for the 'universal' sets from MSD, Magnecor, etc., or do you buy and build your own sets?

What's involved in building your own for the novice?

Thanks...Roy

Just buy the kit, it's easier

Crimping ignition wires is a big pain, and you need special tools. You also run the risk of screwing up, and since Murphy's law applies so well to working on cars, you probably will. So, unless you plan on making custom sets for all your cars, and all of your friends cars, it's just a big waste of money.

I personally like the Magnecor 8.5mm Wires. They perform well, look awesome, and are very well made.

NGK is a good stock alternative, but for big power, get the Magnecores.
