Does anybody know what head type the 72 L24 had? I have a whole motor in storage but that is in Cal. and I am in Nv. right now. I dont know when I will get back down there to check it.

240z E-88 and 260z E-88 are different

The 73-74 (late 240z-260z) E-88 has a raised combustion chamber that is larger than the 72 (240z) E-88, resulting in a lower compression ratio, and are arguably the worst heads for the Z, even though they share the same head # as the much better 72 head. The 74 (260z) head's only redeeming quality it that it's exhaust valve is 2mm larger than the previous heads, but all Z heads can be retroffited with both the larger exhaust and larger intake valves of the N42 and later heads.
