Has anyone ever thought of trying to install a light sensor into their headlamp circuit? I was thinking that it may be possible to buy a cheap automatic light bulb socket, the kind people stick in a lamp post and splice it in so instead of turning on a light bulb it would pop up the headlamps. Any idea how easy/difficult this would be? Would such a device even work on the 12vdc in a car instead of its normal 120vac? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Seems like a waste of time, but very possible. It probably would be a problem cause you'd have to bypass the stock headlight switch, and then have to worry about your wiring.
Those things date back to the late 50's. My 69 Electra had that as an option. I suppose it is sort of useful if you drive through tunnels a lot.
Go the whole hog and fit an auto headlight dipper as well. A spotlight on the fender would be cool, too.
