I over filled my 1980 zx tranny and now it won't
shift into higher gears ie...2nd and 3rd.
Does anyone have any advice on this?
Someome said it's likely a blown seal in the
valve body. Know where to get parts like that?
thanks

Tom, first of all it is highly unlikely that more oil can blow seals in the valve body. The valve body only transfers the fluid through channels to help decide when shifting is required via a vacuum source and little metal balls. Check on the drivers side of the transmission for a vacuum line that leads to the intake. Check both of its connections(at the intake and the transmission) for it not being attached. This is the unit that tells the auto tranny to shift. Sometimes if the trans is filled to much they are know to blow one of the ends off. Usually it is the more at the trans. On a side note, is there any signs of tranny oil leakage anywhere? Let us know what you find out.
