any zx distributor without the ball bearings sandwhiched in the breaker plate?

buddy has an 82 zx dizzy. He took it apart and there is no plastic peice with the ball bearings in it in the middle of the breaker plate. There are the three on the bottom though. I decided to take my 79zx dizzy apart and mine did have the bearings, mine also had a blue type metal that they ride on and his didnt. Just wondering if they changed the breaker plates out from 79 to 82 and got rid of this plastic peice with bearings that always fails?

They may have changed the plate from the 79 to the 82.....but the 82 dist is suppose to have all the bits in it too. Probably what has happened is the bushings have gone south. I toasted two dist in my 82 before I got smart and went Mallory. Problem solved.
