Yup.

Before building my stroker motor in the past I ran a stock 2.4L with a shaved and modified N42 head bolted on a stock weight 240Z.
Best run was a 13.6 @ 99 mph on street tires.
That was done without powershifting as well.

Power is to be found more in the head than just simple block displacement.
