I've just noticed a strong smell coming from the engine after the car
is shut off. I can see some fuel residue at the base of the #3
injector (3rd counting from the front of the car). What's the best
way to diagnose to see if it is truly leaking or if the hose just
came loose? I recently had Jiffy Lube do a fuel injector cleaning
service on my car so I have reason to believe they may have left
something loose. The other 5 are completely dry

Yes you probably have a leaking injector. And despite what some people say you can just replace the hose, Providing it is leaking from the bowl shaped seal at the base of the hose. You have to cut that off to reveal just the injector itself. Have about 1.5 in of fuel hose two clamps and you are ready to go again. Of course it takes time but you will save at least $100. I had 2 start leaking on me so I fixed all of them that way 3 years ago with no problems since.

Re: 83 zxt injector leak (#3) TOOL

Msike,
I've just completed a full injector test on my
82 280ZXT using a $50 SunPro fuel injector and
harness connector tester, it requires a fuel
pressure test ($30), but it will tell you if
your injectors are leaking and if they are firing
equally. Additionally, you can diagnose the
signal from the harness to easily see if a signal is getting to each injector. Great tool.

Is "harness connector" made or bought? c

Chuck;

Could you please describe the harness connector and how it's hooked up? Is that something that has to be fabricated or can it be store bought?

Thanks,
