Here's what happened. I was driving a little bit before it got dark and after a few studders the car shut off. I couldn't turn it back on unless I would turn the stereo and lights off. I did and the car started and after a few miles it shut off again I would have to shut everything off in order for it to tun on. Finally it got to the point where couldn't turn anything on at all or it would shut off and it wouldn't start because I was stepping on the brake pedal to start it. The engine would turn over fast but it just wouldn't start. I towed it home and it would only turn on when I took out the fuse for the electronic instrument panel so that the panel would shut off. Then after a few starts the car wouldn't turn on anymore. With the car shut off i couldn't turn on the lights or the windshield wipers while the stereo was on because the stereo shut off then. This makes no sense at all because the stereo, wipers, and lights are all hooked up independent from the whole cars electric system. I hooked the lights, wipers, and stereo up directly to the batter and turn them on and off with a toggle switch. This shouldn't keep the car from starting should it?
I took the alternator in to get checked and it was shot so I reinstalled it and melted a fusible link and ruined the new alternator again because i got the positive and negative wires mixed up. I went and got a new alternator and made sure to get the wires right this time. Still i get nothing and the same symptoms take place. When I turn on the turn signal the whole electronic instrument panel ligths blink on and off along with the blikers and the pressure and turbo gauge go psycho. I also hear a sor of buzzing, clinking, or light rumblimg sound under the dash on the passengers side. Does anyone have any idea what's going on and can anyone figure it out.
