This may have already been covered but, i just got an 83 turbo 280zx and it won't start. It acts like it will start the very first crank but then will not start, just cranks and cranks. I think it is the cold start valve, But i am not sure, Any suggestions?

start with the basics... spark, fuel, compression

I'd start by seeing if your plugs are flooded

then I'd see if they are getting power...

then I'd see if there's fuel in the rail
then I'd see if the injectors are getting a pulse

I agree w/ mylesm check the basics. I've got an 83ZXT tha sometimes won't start it cranks and cranks and the will start or if ya put a battery charger on it it starts right up. I had to get some contact cleaner and clean the ECU contact and the problem went away. It seems to be very sensitive to voltage not enough and it just won't play.
