i had no idea there was a different ecu for 5 spd & auto. I am looking at purchasing a 1982 turbo zx as a donor. It's an automatic, and I was planning to swap with my 5 spd. I know this is probably a stupid question, but is it really necessary to get the 5 spd ecu? what does the ecu have to do with the tranny on a zx anyways?
also i know its better to just get z31 ecu & mas or standalone, i'm really kind of asking just for curiosity's sake.
the auto tranny ecu drops down to idle faster. ive tried both and the only real difference in a 5 spd with an auto ecu is that the shifting gets a little jerky at times because of the quicker rpm fall off.
nevermind. i just searched the archives and found everything i needed. actually it was a reply from you, tchrisx about a year ago! ha ha whaddaya know. thanks
