On my car I just bought recently and was interested in any cheap HP gaining procedures that I could do.

Already I have put a turbo exaust on it and took the air intake off (but not the filter)I also took my AC condenser off in an attempt to help it run cooler(AC did not work)the AC compressor is not hooked up any way.

Also I have noticed the power locks do not work all the time(when I bought the car the drivers door was jammed shut)and my oil gauge does not work but the talking voice still does ; how do I shut that stupid thing up.

I would appreciate any possible help you could provide for me

Thank you,

The voice is routed through the stereo. There is a connection that enables the voice on the stereo. I'm not sure exactly which one. Sorry that's all I know.

You might try taking off the belt-driven cooling
fan (leave the pulley, though!) And replace it
with either a switch-operated electric fan or
a thermostat operated one (A large Mr. Gasket
one will work fine). Make sure it'll move enough
air... a lot of the cheap ones from Pep Boys
don't move much CFM. As far as the oil pressure
gauge not working, try checking the sending unit
on the passenger side of the engine. It's a
little gold-colored knob with a wire connector
attached to it and a black rubber boot covering
it. You may need a new one.

Yeah, that thing is stupid. The voice doesn't go through the stereo, but it does go through the speakers. I don't believe it goes through the rears, but I know that it goes through the front speakers. I don't know what your setup is like, but I removed the stock tape deck and installed a single cd receiver from an '86 Pathfinder. I wanted to use the dash spekers, so I found the connector that goes to the dash speakers (because actually wiring to the front speakers themselves I think is impossible unless you take the dash out, please correct me if I'm wrong anybody) and wired the deck to the speakers via the connector. I wasn't planning to turn off the voice, but found out that it must have gone through the connector which I disconnected. Anyway, to find that connector, remove the cover that is right above the passengers feet. Behind it to the right you will see a few wiring harnesses. You should be able to easily see a 4-wire connector that has 2 yellow wires and 2 blue wires. That's it! Although, this method will probably only help you if you are going to wire a non-Z stereo like I did, or just disconnect the front speakers. I know there is another way bypass the recorder at the source. But I would have to look it up. If you still need help with this, E-mail me and I will check it out for you. Yes you will probably need a new oil pressure sending unit, they are notorious for being unreliable. Motorsport Auto claims to sell one that is better than the stock one for about $45, but I have not tried it yet so I cannot testify. As far as HPmods and what to do 1st, keep checking out Zcar.com and it's archives, you will find more than enough info.

There is a black box on the back of the rr shock tower that is a voice control box. I think if you unplug it you will be through with her.
