I have an 81 280zx turbo and it has been sitting for about a year. We finally decided to get it working. After cleaning the fuel lines and unclogging stuff we got it started runs horible. Won't rev at all sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders or less sometimes. I'm fixing to give it a tuneup (Change oil, spark plugs, wires, distributor, a/t filter, drop the tank and clean it considerable amount of rust on the inside of it, clean oil line going to the turbo) anything else I'm leaving off that is a good idea on turbos.

Clean every electrical conector in the engine management ststem harness. There is often corrosion build up that leads to bad contacts particularly in the engine bay. First check the TPS connector and the Air Flow Meter conector on both the male and female sides. Also make sure there is no water in the TPS connector area, this will bridge the contacts and make it run like crap. Hope this helps.
