I have an 81 280zx turbo, I can't get the thing to start.. The coil is good, same with the igniter (ignition controll module), new cap + rotor, and the spark plugs and wires are all good. Could it be the crank angle sensor? Any ideas or sugestions would be greatly apprecieated, thanks.

Can you hear the fuel pump coming on? Should come on for a few seconds when you turn the key on. Also try cleaning the connectors on the computer (drivers kick panel)

Yes. It very well could be the crank angle sensor. I had the same problem on an 83 280zxt. But mine would not spark when it got warmed up. It would run fine until the engine came up to operating temp...
I was luck though. My 83 turbo used a crank angle sensor that was almost identical to the 84 300z n/a so finding one was a breeze. I have an old 81 280zxt block I will have to see if it has the sensor...
