HI all,

Just got through talking to a guy about a transmission he has , its a five speed from a 79 2+2, I have a 76 4-speed ,my question does the 2+2 take any modifications to put in my car? If so what is invloved. thanks

it will bolt right in, you may have to bend the five speed shifter slightly in a vise, to center it in your counsel. You must also match the speedo drive gear with your old trans, or the speedo will be off. Some people change the 5 spd and diff together. Make sure you do not use the throw out collar sleeve from the 2+2 car unless yours is a 2+2 or you change it to the 2+2 flywheel/ clutch set up. If you compare them, you will see that a coupe sleeve is longer than the 2+2 sleeve. Joe

No cutting needed for the 280z's Have the same trans. in mine works fine.
