How can I easily tell if I have the 180 or 200 differential? I have the drive shaft with the u-joints on each end but not sure on which diff. My books tell me that the 180 was for the automatics and I have a 4 speed. Thanks

the 180 has 5 bolts around the axle on both sides of the diff.

Grandpa Joe,
As Mark said, the 200 has bolt flanges attaching the half-shafts. The 180 is splined. Your 280 should have an R200 unless it had a negative transplant in a former life.
Merry Christmas,
