'78 Initial Timing

Just making sure I don't mess something up....

New timing chain and sprockets. Engine set at TDC on #1 (#6 in up position also). I find no mark on the plate behind the new cam sprocket, so am guessing. The number 1 on the outside of the cam sprocket is at about the 2 o'clock position. There are numbers behind the washer used with the cam sprocket, but I can't read them....the machine shop that did the valve job put on the new sprocket. Is it safe to assume that placing the 'shiney' links of the new timing chain on the mark on the crank sprocket and on the #1 on the cam sprocket, that I should be ready to go. Is there anyway to be off? The woodruff keys on the crank are in the up position. The valves on #1 and #6 are closed with the #1 on the outside of the cam sprocket in the position described above.

Thanks...I think I'm OK, but I have no notch at the top of the cam sprocket as shown in the picture.
