Hi all - can anyone help?

I want to convert the above to contactless ignition aftermarket kits are available (optical switching) for about £150 - but being a tight-fisted so & so, I wondered if later model dizzys are compatable.

Any info (esp. wiring diagram) appreciated.

I think so. you have to swap the transistor ignition module with distributor. I think.

A "petronix" module might be the easiest thing to do if they make them for this model. Otherwise you would be looking for a 81-83 ZX dizzy with attached transistor module.

you dont want the later 81-83 distributor, they need the computer to control spark at higher rpm's,. the one your looking for is on the 79-80 280ZX, 2 wire 12-80 module. thats the best one for a good elctronic ignition upgrade
