Before my 76 280z died for good, it would idle at 600 rpm's and would not go any higher. i checked to make sure that it was getting fuel.(ok) l replace the cold start valve. I replace the coil. I was going to check the timing if can get it running again.

any ideas!!!

Does you have any spark at all? That the first thing to check, 'cause the FI computer will not fire the injectors unless the igition system is working.

If you have a spare injector, plug one of your fuel injector plugs into it and feel if it is opening and closing when you crank the engine (I find listening for clicks while cranking the engine almost impossible).

If you have spark and fuel pressure, and the injectors are not openning, I would suspect the AFM connections or the AFM itself.

Also check the throttle position switch.
What happened when you tried to rev it when it was idling at 600rpm?
Give as much info as you can ie backfiring plug condition etc..
