Hi YaAll,
Replaced the igntion switch on my 75 today. I undid the cowling then took a wood chisel and hammer and made a slot into the 2 capped screws. This easily allowed me to use a flat head screw driver to unscrew the bolts. I then replaced the unit from my 77 parts car after a locksmith made me a new key to fit for just $18.
Use some lithium grease where the lock bolt on the ignition switch meets the column.
