A few years back I was on a list were there was a conversion for disk brakes for the 70-78 z car using the brakes off of a 79-and up. The backing plate must be removed and an adaption plate used to bolt up the rear disks. They (mark I think) also addressed that toyota 4-piston brakes can be fit form a 4-runner. Any info can help.

Sounds like your asking about rear up-grade but talking about the front to me...
