I took my starion i/c to the shop to have the one outlet welded so it isnt pointing at the front of the car. Guy said it would be $40 to cut off the pipe and weld it back on so its facing a different direction. Does this seem a good price? thanks

Yes, if it's a good welder. Welding aluminum is tricky and the equipment costs money. You might be able to find some place to do it cheaper, but it won't necessarily hold together.

I've been welding for close to 30 years (including aluminum) and I wouldn't do it for $40.00. If you feel good about the person that will be welding it, I'd say go for it. Ask for some type of guarantee.
