How do I do it. I am building a 2.8l N/A high output motor. I am using a Isky (is that spelled correctly?), 60lbs injectors, a intake plenum from a '77 280z (see questions below) and a N42(can't remember for sure) head, with a 5spd/Centerforce behind. I want to optimize my air flow so I want to go big bore throttle and AFM. I have read that a 300ZX has less resistance and is bigger. I know the TB is easy. but what about the AFM, what changes do I need to do to get it to work with OEM harness?

Next, I have seen lots-o-plenums. The one I am going to use is from a 77 I think. I has no aluminum between the air runners to the head. I have seen other plenums that are tapered to the back and have EGR on them. The one I have doesn't have and EGR stuff. Is that the better one to use?

Finally, Anybody found someplace to buy injector connectors?

I'm not sure which year 300 you are talking about, but I heard at my Z club that a common swap for the Z31 300ZX is a 240SX throttle body, as it is larger.
Maybe you want to consider that one?

Sources for injector connectors (I'm assuming electrical) are Motorsport Auto or Banzai Motors (301-937-5746)

My father in law was active in Southern Ca. car clubs back in the forties, fifties, and told me many stories about Bean Bandit car projects. Just wanted to know if you were a member of the Bean Bandits.

The conversion involves swapping out the innards from your original AFM into the 300Z AFM body. I lost my bookmark to the page that shows just how to do it. It's not quite that straight forward. Something about adjusting the spring... Somebody on this forum MUST know the link to that page!

The injector connectors can be purchased from Motorsport (including rubber boot) for around $13.00/ea. 800-633-6331 Or you can get them at your local Checker Auto Parts (without the rubber boot) for $6.00/ea. They are Bosch clips

No I am not a member of the San Diego Bean Bandits. The group you are referring to build wonderful drag cars, I do not drag and have no ties to them. I live in Houston. My handle Bean Bandit was given to me by a friend a back a few years. I comes from a Anime movie, the main characters name is Bean, he drives a wild car and has a fairly brash personality. My friends thought that this character personified me, and the name just stuck. Can't say it is the worst nic name I have had, but I liked the name quite a lot after I watched the flick. He has a bitchen car (like mine), and drives like me too.

The 300zx uses a mass air flow sensor which is completely different. I'm in the middle of trying to figure out how the sensor with the ecm from a 300zxt will work in my 280zxt. I'll post how to do as soon as I'm done.
