Does anyone have a 280ZX with a V8 that lives in Texas? I am thinking about doing the conversion on my 79 280ZX and would like to see/drive one.

I HAD one exactly that your looking for, unfortunately I killed it. Dooh !!
My uncle built it for a guy that used to work for him and I bought from him.
I can tell you that it's a head turner for sure. I had side pipes on it with glass packs put in backwards, it was fun to drive through parking garages and listen to all the other cars (alarms) cry as I passed. I remember understeer under braking was difficult to get used to. Also, I got about 9mpg. It has been about 5-6yrs since I killed it and had to scrap it but if you want anymore details e-mail me.
Things I remember at this point:
motor mounts welded further back.
larger radiator elec. fan in front and no shrowd<sp> on reg. fan.
It even had AC.. here in TX was a necessity. !!
350 ci ... thm350<something er other auto trans> from an I-roc.
If you go Auto (the only thing I wouldn't have done) you need a little device that keeps is from cutting out at 110mph and shifting into neutral.
had an aluminum intake by Edelbrock and Holley dbl pumpr.
Can't think of much else at the moment.
but I do have a really big smile just hinking about it...

Now I am sad.. thanks haha !!
