[280ZX JUSTIN]

My 79 280ZX bumper is stuffed but I have found a perfect 80-83 bumper? Its off the targa roof model. The bumper looks very similar but will it fit my 79? Please tell me it will as finding cheap 280ZX parts in Sydney Australia are hard to find.

Honestly, according to my Motorsport catalog (I certainly am no expert on zx's) , the 79-81 bumpers are the same.

all 79-81s(including 2+2) had the same bumpers. 82 and 83s look different(all rubber part of it is painted body color) but I'm pretty sure they bolt on to a 79-81 car.

You got nothing to worry about that bumper will work perfectly(99% sure).

The bumpers bolt right up all right, but go for the '83 style. You'l have to get the four other peices that come back to the fenderwell, but it looks much better in my opinion. mine are painted the same color as the car, with no black strips and it totaly changes the mood of the car. I know it looks great in silver!!

I'm not sure if ZX's in Australia are any different, but I have a '79 ZX and an '83 ZXT w/T-tops. The 79-81 ZX's have a black bumper with a chrome insert (front). The black bumpers wrap only part way around the fenders. On the 83 ZX's the bumpers are different, usually monochromatic, (same color as body) and they wrap around the fenders to touch the wheel wells. Gives the bumpers a more intergrated look. Looks like part of the body instead of a black crash bumper.
I would think that the bumpers should be interchangable, with some minor modifications.
